The 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention will include a comprehensive programme of meetings, conference sessions and networking events accompanying a dynamic exhibition to help deliver the following 3 objectives:

1. Establish necessary action to better develop and administrate the activities of FINA’s 202 National Member Federations worldwide

• Well-known and respected international lecturers will deliver presentations on how to improve the management and governance of the national federations, and on how to organise and promote aquatic events.
• A “National Federation Book 2010-2013” will be presented with content of guidelines to the FINA Member Federations to help achieve their goals.
• National bodies will be briefed on essential components of their development, such as implementing new ways to keep the sport clean, motivate volunteers, generate additional revenue and attract new sponsors.
• Exchange of ideas with representatives of the International Olympic Committee and United Nations will also be part of the programme.

2.    Present the main direction of FINA in the 21st century, together with a view for our commercial partners including  sponsors, TV networks, event organisers, cities bidding to host aquatics events, and other companies that offer specific services to the aquatic community.

• A dynamic exhibition area will be present during the three days of the Convention where organisations will display their products, services, venues and promote their cities as destinations for Aquatics events.
• Dedicated networking events and meeting time will allow exhibitors and delegates to catch up with existing clients, meet new prospective partners and build relationships that will support the development of aquatics worldwide.
• National Federations are invited to bring along their own present and potential partners in order to show to them the strength and the spectacular dimension of FINA events.

3.    Achieve unity of the Aquatic Movement through the reinforcement of the strength of our National Federations.

• Delegates from all 202 National Federations will be able to share knowledge, exchange ideas, develop strong relationships and through discussion, debate, meetings and networking contribute to the growth of Aquatic sports worldwide.

The overarching objective of the 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention is to give participants the best possible guidelines and information to help them achieve success in their respective country.

The Convention will assist FINA in the growth and development of Aquatic Festivals around the world and in the further enhancement of our five aquatic disciplines and the promotion of our Stars.

The 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention will be a unique and exclusive opportunity for the global aquatics community to come together to help move the sport forwards in the 21st Century and we look forward to seeing our colleagues and partners from around the world convene in Punta Del Este, Uruguay 27 - 29 September 2010.
