National Federations
Following FINA’s success during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and the outstanding TV audience figures during the 2009 FINA World Championships, which were seen by over 3.5 billion viewers worldwide, FINA is ready to present its vision for the Aquatics Sport in 21st century through the development of its FINA Member National Federations.
The program of the convention is structured on the four-year FINA Development Programme that is addressed to National Federations for consistent growth by taking and overcome challenges: administration, promotion, media attention, organisation of events, generation of revenue, economical impact, relations with NOCs and other sport federations.
The objective to learn, to plan ahead and to react.
This major FINA event will bring together:
- Representatives from all FINA Member Federations (202)
- IOC guests
- UN guests
- LOCOG 2012
- OC Rio 2016
- Organising Committees of FINA World Championships events 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013
- NF/Cities Bidders for future FINA events
- FINA Partners and Sponsors
- FINA TV network Partners
- Companies active in the Aquatics sport business
- Consultants and Service Providers
The 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention will constitute a major milestone for the Aquatic sports community to come together in order to explore new horizons, developments, communications platforms and technologies, share knowledge and develop ideas, increase network and establish new relationships.
This Convention will demonstrate why Sponsors & Partners are proud to support FINA and why prestigious cities are interested in hosting FINA’s major events.
As a FINA National Member Federation, you are perfectly aware of the FINA value and of the importance of our competitions in the international sports market.
We want, therefore, to show this successful reality to those you need to approach for the enhancement of your activities on a national level - your sponsors and commercial partners.
That is why we see it as a great opportunity for you to invite the representatives of your main existing or potential sponsors to visit the Convention to learn the full attractiveness of the Aquatics sport and FINA activities, to get to know our great Stars and to see how we organise Aquatics festivals. They will be convinced by the strength of our International Federation and will for sure be more motivated to continue or to begin a partnership with your National Federation.

It is my great pleasure and honour to welcome all the participants to the 1st FINA World Aquatics Convention, organised from September 27-29, 2010 in Punta del Este, Uruguay.
